Economic costs of racism

The Commission is a partner in an ARC Linkage Project entitled ‘Addressing race-based discrimination in Australia: A cost-benefit analysis’. The research is being led by Dr Yin Paradies at the University of Melbourne.

The project aims to quantify the financial cost of racism to Australian society. Research commenced in 2011, and is due to be completed by 2014.
