Submission Guidelines (closed)
We're looking for your interesting photos on the theme of the Right to Education.
We’re looking for great photos about the broad theme of education- maybe it will be you and your classmates, an exciting event your school or local library held or anything about education – from Kindergarten to life-long learning. So crank up your imagination and grab your camera!
Conditions of entry
- Photos should interpret ‘the right to education’ in some form.
- Entries open to anyone residing in Australia (except AHRC staff).
- Photos must be the work of the photographer who enters the competition.
- The are two categories in the competition - Under 18, and 18 and over.
- Entries from persons under 18 at 1 August 2011 must have signed parent/guardian consent.
- It is the responsibility of entrants to obtain the permission of the subjects in the photograph.
- Entry is free; a maximum of 6 entries per month per photographer will be received.
- Photographs should have been taken in the last two years.
- Photos should be entered that are not ‘collages’ or rely on heavy use of image manipulation or overlay.
- Judges’ decisions will be final and no correspondence will be entered into.
- Electronic copies only will be received; they should be at 300 DPI and up to 5 MB file size, or a link to your photo in Flickr with these dimensions.
- Entries should be emailed to Photocomp@humanrights.gov.au.
- Entries can also be loaded into the Flickr ‘group’ for this competition, however each entry in this way must also be accompanied by an entry form.
- Each photograph should have a title and a sentence about it.
- Copyright and intellectual property of the images remains the permission of the photographer.
- By signing the permission form, the entrant grants permission (a limited copyright) to the AHRC to copy and publish your submission (including any photograph or text) or part of it. The Commission may publish your work on our websites, social media sites or on print or digital publication. For each subsequent project it is re-used in, we will pay the photographer $50 per photo.
- Photographs will be credited wherever the images are used.
- Entries for the 2011 competition will close on COB Wednesday 30 November 2011.
- Signing the entry form constitutes acceptance of these conditions.
