National Inquiry to visit Western Australia

The Human Rights and Equal Opportunity Commission's National Inquiry into Children in Immigration Detention will visit Western Australia from 10 to 19 June and will hold a public meeting in Perth, visit detention centres in Perth, Port Hedland and Derby and hold confidential meetings for the Inquiry.

Dr Annie Sparrow & Dr Paul Carroll - Alliance of Professionals Concerned about the Health of Asylum Seekers and their Children

Media representatives are invited to attend.

The Inquiry team will also visit the following detention facilities in Western Australia:

The Commission will not comment on issues raised in confidential hearings or make detailed observations about the detention centre visits at this time. The purpose of these meetings and visits is to gather evidence for the Inquiry and to assist in preparing the final report to Government.
