REVISED DATES FOR SYDNEY PUBLIC HEARINGS NATIONAL INQUIRY INTO CHILDREN IN IMMIGRATION DETENTION

The next Sydney inquiry hearings will now be held on:

Monday 9 September - Thursday 12 September at 9.00 am
At the Ballroom, Four Points Sheraton Hotel, 161 Sussex Street, Sydney

These are revised dates to those announced previously.

The Department of Immigration and Multicultural and Indigenous Affairs will give evidence at these hearings. The Department's submission to the Inquiry is available on the DIMIA website - http://www.immi.gov.au/.

Australasian Correctional Management will also give evidence.

Transcripts of the hearings, and previously unavailable submissions made to the Inquiry on Children in Immigration Detention, will be published on the HREOC website by the end of this week - www.humanrights.gov.au/

MEDIA REPRESENTATIVES ARE INVITED TO ATTEND THE HEARINGS.
However, some evidence may be given in camera and the Commission has powers to suppress information that may identify certain individuals. For information on confidentiality please see:
