MEDIA ALERT: Major forum on telecommunications for people with disabilities

The Human Rights and Equal Opportunity Commission (HREOC) will host a major forum this Friday (28 November) to discuss issues on access to telecommunications for people with disabilities.

The forum will bring together key government, industry and disability community organisations to examine issues raised in a discussion paper titled ‘When the Tide Comes In: Towards Accessible Telecommunications for People with Disabilities in Australia’, which was released by HREOC in June this year.

The forum will be opened by Attorney General Philip Ruddock, followed by a keynote speech from Acting Disability Discrimination Commissioner Dr Sev Ozdowski OAM.
