Human Rights Medal and Awards 2003
******* CALL FOR NOMINATIONS *******
In a radio promotion for this year’s Human Rights Medal and Awards, former Prime Minister Malcolm Fraser described winning the 2000 Human Rights Medal as “a significant honour” and is urging people to nominate in each of the award categories.
“The Human Rights Commission is calling for nominations for people who should be recognised because they’ve advanced human rights either in Australia, or in the wider world,” said Mr Fraser.
“I’d urge people throughout the community to pay attention to this, and if you know somebody who you believe merits an award, then put their name forward. It’s very important.”
The Commission is calling for nominations from individuals and organisations for the 2003 Human Rights Medal and Awards in the following categories:
- Human Rights Medal
- Law (sponsored by the Law Council of Australia)
- Community
