Human Rights Medal and Awards 2003
***EXTENSION TO ENTRIES DEADLINE***
Nominations for the prestigious 2003 Human Rights Medal and Awards have been extended to Monday 13 October - so act now and nominate for the Human Rights Medal or enter in one of the six award categories.
The awards will be presented in the areas of Law, Community, Arts Non-Fiction, Print Media, Television and Radio. To be eligible your entry should address some or all of the following criteria:
- Promote action to overcome discrimination or infringements of human rights within Australia.
- Promote greater harmony between people of different race, sex, sexuality, age or ethnic origin within Australia.
- Advance the rights of Indigenous Australians.
- Advance equality of opportunity in any field of human endeavour in Australia for all people, including those with intellectual, physical or psychiatric disabilities.
- Raise or highlight issues of injustice, breaches of human rights and inequality in Australia to assist informed public debate or encourage a resolution of those issues.
