To Whom it may concern, I
am disabled & currently using a Service Dog to help me live my life.
Actually he has given me my life back. I am a epileptic with uncontrolled
& unpredictable seizures. My SD can detect my seizures approximately
7-10 minutes in advance. This enables me to find a place of safety to have
my seizure. Prior to receiving my SD I was a prisoner in my own APT.
I was unable to leave because I never knew when a seizure would hit. Even
in my apt I had to wear arm, knee & elbow pads. I also had a helmet
on my head to prevent any more concussions, I had 4.
I am one of many who has trained there own SD. The seizure alert he does
is God Given & required no training. He has passed a basic obedience
course & passed the Canine Good Citizenship test. However under some
of the proposed new laws he would not qualify to be a SD because he has not been
trained by a qualified trainer or from a school.
The new laws MUST be broad enough to cover My SD or I will be put back into my
jail. Thanks you for any help & please
feel free to ask for any clarification. God Bless
