Information for Employers - Good practice, good business: Eliminating discrimination and harassment in the workplace

Using the 'Good practice, good business' resources in your workplace

The Australian Human Rights Commission have developed the 'Good practice, good business' resources to provide practical information for employers to ensure that Australian workplaces are free from discrimination and harassment.

Click on the links below for further information on using these resources in your workplace:

Formal Induction Sessions

An induction program is an invaluable way to introduce new staff to their new work environment as well as describing the functions and organisation of their work area.

These sessions should be used to make new staff aware of an organisation's policies covering all forms of unlawful discrimination and harassment - so they are fully aware of their rights and responsibilities. New employees should also be informed of internal complaints procedures for dealing with discrimination and harassment complaints.

Not only does this help create a safe and harmonious workplace where employees are aware of their rights and responsibilities, it can also help employers meet their responsibilities as an employer to minimise the risk of liability.

Ordering Resources

If you would like to order the 'Good practice, good business' resources to include in an induction pack for new employees in your organisation simply fill out the Publications Order form available for download in PDF format.
