African Australians: National Consultations

African Australians: National Consultations

2009

Who ran the national consultations?

Myriad Consultants were commissioned to work with the Steering Committee and Community Reference Group to undertake this project, and organised and facilitated the national consultation process.

How were consultations organised?

Myriad Consultants visited several locations across Australia in 2009. There were two streams of consultation:

Community consultations with African Australians

Consultation sessions were organised in a number of ways to ensure maximum input from African Australian communities.

Translation and/ or interpreting of the following 10 languages were also incorporated, where appropriate, in national consultations with African Australian communities: Amahric, Arabic, Dinka, Kirundi, Krio, Nuer, Oromo, Somali, Swahili and Tigrinya.
