Sexual Harassment: Knowing Your Rights (2004)
Sexual harassment is a type of sex discrimination. Sexual
harassment is any unwanted or unwelcome sexual behaviour
which makes a person feel offended or humiliated and that reaction
could reasonably have been expected in the circumstances.
20 Years On: The Challenges Continue: Sexual Harassment in the Australian Workplace (2004) reports the findings of a national household telephone survey of 1,006 Australians between the ages of 18 and 64 years conducted by the Gallup Organization on behalf of the Human Rights and Equal Opportunity Commission (HREOC) in 2003.
Sexual Harassment in the Workplace: A Code of Practice for Employers (2004) clearly explains what constitutes sexual harassment, how employers can be liable and how they can avoid liability by taking all reasonable steps to prevent this occuring in their workplaces.
Sexual Harassment and
Educational Institutions:
A Guide to the Federal Sex Discrimination Act (1996) aims to assist educational institutions - schools, vocational education
and training colleges and universities to understand and fulfill their obligations under federal
sexual harassment legislation. It addresses the complex legal
and jurisdictional issues that arise for different education sectors
under the federal law and provides practical advice on developing policies
and handling complaints.
