Purpose
The purpose of this web site is to help HREOC fulfill its role of distributing information about human rights.
The site aims to do so by presenting a clean, fast, consistent and easily navigable online interface onto the work of HREOC.
Design priorities
To meet these aims, a design priority has been to maximise accessibility to the information presented on the site, by:
-
making it usable by a wide variety of web browsers, at a variety of screen resolutions and colour depths;
-
making pages and images small in size, so they download fast, even over a old modem;
-
designing the pages so that they print out well;
-
making the site accessible to the widest range of people in the community, including people with a disability
All HTML files within the structure validate to the W3C XHTML 1.0 Transitional specification.
The linked CSS file validates to CSS version 2.
All pages (excluding the Search) on this site conform to W3C's "Web Content Accessibility Guidelines 1.0", level Double A.
