Speaker Series Event: The History of Islam in Australia

Race Race Discrimination
Wednesday 4 September, 2019
The History of Islam in Australia

As part of the Sharing the Stories of Australian Muslims project, the Race Discrimination Commissioner & Team would like to invite you to our Speaker Series Event: The History of Islam in Australia with guest speaker Professor Mohamad Abdalla (UniSA).

Australia has a long and primarily positive contact history with Muslim people, stretching from coastal traders before colonial settlement through to prospectors during the Australian Gold Rush and the Afghan cameleers who opened central Australia, to the modern Muslims who now call Australia home. Many Muslim generations have helped build Australia into the country it is today. This event will share some of these stories.

Please register your attendance via the Eventbrite link: https://www.eventbrite.com.au/e/speaker-series-the-history-of-islam-in-australia-tickets-68756980981. Feel free to share this invitation with your networks.
