There are only three weeks left to nominate for the 2019 Human Rights Awards!

Each year the Human Rights Commission hosts the annual Human Rights Awards where the outstanding work of ordinary Australians, organisations, businesses and community groups is celebrated and commended. With so many Australians committing their lives to ensuring human rights and freedoms are enjoyed by all, on an equal basis, the Awards provide a platform to recognise their devotion to making Australia better.

This is the time to celebrate and acknowledge their hard work and achievements by nominating them in one of the following nine Awards categories:

  • Human Rights Medal
  • Young People’s Human Rights Medal
  • Business Award
  • Government
  • Racism. It Stops With Me Award
  • Media Award
  • Tony Fitzgerald Memorial Community Individual Award 
  • Community Organisation Award
  • Law Award

NOMINATE by July 15th  

Previous winners in the prestigious Human Rights Medal category include The Hon Peter McClellan AM QC and Chrissie Foster, Johnathan Thurston, Pat Anderson, Peter Greste, Ian Thorpe, the Rt Hon. Malcom Fraser, Ron Merkel QC, Sister Clare Condon and Dorothy Hoddinott.
