Approximately 12

students attended. They were asked to identify both the positive and the

negative aspects of their school education at Normanton. Their comments

covered a range of issues.

School curriculum

"I would like to

have more music at school."

"Band practice is

fun."

"I love to do art

at school. I'm a good artist."

"Excursions are fun."

Teachers

"There are a couple

of good teachers at our school."

Sport

"We should have more

sports at school."

"I love swimming

lessons."

"We have a tennis

court, basketball court, swimming pool and play equipment."

"We need a new tennis

net."

School facilities

"They have put up

some new buildings at school."

"The school is air-conditioned"

[but] "the air-conditioning needs to be fixed."

"They should employ

more cleaners to look after the school premises."

"There is graffiti

on the walls at school."

Transport

"We need more school

buses."

Technology

"We have a computer

room at school."

School conflict

and discipline

"There is some vandalism

and bad language at school."

"Some kids get into

fights. Violence at school is bad."

"I don't like it

when kids fight at school."

"Some of the kids

at school are into smoking and swearing."

"The school rules

are good."

General

"I like it when I

get a sense of achievement from my work."
