Review of Immigration Detention Centres (1999)
This report details the findings of the Human Rights Commissioner after inspecting four immigration detention centres in 1998-99: Villawood in Sydney, Maribyrnong in Melbourne, Port Hedland and Perth in WA. The report evaluates conditions of detention against the Immigration Detention Guidelines and makes a number of findings related to further improvements that should be implemented.
