Supporting participation of representatives of people with disability in key international forums on human rights

 

If there is an event for which you wish to seek support through this program that is not already listed on the calendar you can nominate it to be approved and added to the calendar by completing and submitting an event nomination form.

Deadlines: Nominations may be submitted at any time but must be at least 6 months and no more than 18 months in advance of the event.

CCPR - International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights 121 Session.   13-20 October  2017 Geneva Closed

Disabled Persons Organisations (DPO) Australia were funded  attend the ICCPR review;  undertake preparatory work and co-ordination; participate in NGO human rights delegation and engage in strategic meetings.

Commission on the Status of Women, 59 Session, New York, 9-20 March 2015.

Representatives from two organisations were selected to attend CSW 59: People with Disability Australia; Women With Disabilities Australia. The representatives worked with other organisations prior to departure to ensure that all relevant events were included in the agenda.

Three organisations were selected to attend the CAT: People with Disability Australia; Women With Disabilities Australia; and Multicultural Disability Advocacy Association.

Seventh session of the Conference of States Parties to the Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilites, 10-12 June 2014.

The thematic discussions for the COSP are: Incorporating the CRPD provisions into the post-2015 development agenda; Youth with disabilities; and National implementation and monitoring.

We are looking for young emerging leaders in the disability sector. Preferably, the young applicant will be between 18 – 30 years of age. DPOs and DAOs are strongly encouraged to nominate young persons with a disability.
