In Tasmania there is no public transport for wheelchair users, only access taxis. The position is very poor and two to three hour waits for any of the three companies are usual. It is expected to order cabs at least one day ahead, if you speak out then the operator refuses to transport the person. I was told by Mr M. Sullivan HOBART AND SOUTHERN MAXISI would not be transported by his cabs after I complained of lack of safety, overcharging on fares. Taxis operate without meter running. Last Sat I was informed there was a minimum charge of $17.50 this was an 8 dollar fare. this was UNITED TAXIS Cabs operate rarely at night. MARY GUY 1-303 MAIN ROAD GLENORCHY TASMANIA PH 0362726725
