Review into the Treatment of Women in the Australian Defence Force

2011-2013

The Australian Human Rights Commission (the Commission) conducted a Review, firstly of the treatment of women at the Australian Defence Force Academy (ADFA) (phase one) and, secondly, into the effectiveness of cultural change strategies and initiatives required to improve leadership pathways for women in the Australian Defence Force (phase two). The Commission also undertook an audit of the implementation of the recommendations which resulted from these reviews (phase 3).

The Review was led by Commissioner Broderick who chaired the expert Review Panel.
