Engaging with the media is an important way that the Australian Human Rights Commission can raise community awareness of human rights issues in Australia.
We regularly prepare and distribute media releases, opinion pieces, speeches, media kits and fact sheets on the work that the Commission undertakes. Our website also provides extensive research and project information.
Whenever possible, the President Hon. Catherine Branson QC and Commissioner Calma (Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Social Justice Commissioner and Race Discrimination Commissioner), Commissioner Broderick (Sex Discrimination Commissioner and Commissioner responsible for Age Discrimination) and Commissioner Innes (Human Rights Commissioner and Disability Discrimination Commissioner) speak with the media to discuss and debate human rights and discrimination issues.
